This book is a classic. It tells the story of King Arthur's childhood, when he was known as Wart (to rhyme with art). His life is a journey into the unknown. Luckily, he has Merlin as a guide.

An enthralling journey through the battlefields of World War I. There is a lot of suspense here but it isn't a simple adventure.

Alex Rider Books - Anthony Horowitz
If you haven't heard of Alex Rider yet then you need to get reading!
Just saying that Alex is a teenage James Bond does not do these books justice. They make James Bond look slow! And it's definitely a case of the book being better than the film.
These stories are gritty, gripping and above all, great fun. There's plenty of action throughout and something to grab your attention on every single page.
Alex is a great hero, but what really makes these stories thrilling are the villains.

In Soccer Shadows - Tom is bored on holiday, until he meets Leo - a mysterious barefoot boy. Leo invites Tom to take part in a football tournament on the beach.
There are two books in the series and they're both absolutely brilliant.
The Edge Chronicles - Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell
These books are the BEST. I picked up the first book, Beyond the Deepwoods, and I was completely lost in the world of The Edge. I'm sure you've heard this before, but no book can match how amazing these chronicles are. the main characters - Twig, Quint and Rook - have amazing adventures which involve sky ships, weird creatures and things that other writers couldn't imagine.
Will the Edge be destroyed or saved?

The Recruit - Robert Muchamore
James Adams is an ordinary schoolboy until CHERUB interferes.
CHERUB is a secret organisation that works with MI5. Their agents are teenagers - they can slip under the adults' radar.
This book, like the rest of the series by Robert Muchamore, is full to the brim with explosive action.
Once you've picked this book up, you're never going to want to put it down because very word is tensionised!

Kensuke's Kingdom - Michael Morpurgo
Have you ever imagined living on a desert island?
Read this book and you'll feel as though you've lived the dream. It really is that good.
The characters are brilliant - you'll feel as though you've met them. But be prepared for surprises. There are plenty of twists and turns in this wonderful story.
A truly original adventure.
